My surname is Serembe. We are from Vaccarizzo Albanese in Cosenza Province. This town began after the waves of Albanians came over following the death of Skanderbeg and the takeover by the Ottoman Turks in about 1470. I would like to learn more about the origins of Vacarizzo and San Cosmo Albanese (close by) and where they originated in Albania: north, south, Gheg, Tosk, etc. A particular town or province in Albania? Apparently the ancestors of those Arbereshi living in Piana del Albanese in Sicily originated from Himara on the coast of Albania.
I do have relatives living in Vaccarizzo and nearby. HELP!. -

Ciao!! I'm doing some research on Angelo (Giuseppe) Leporace who left Cosenza by 1886/88. Any clue? Thank you! . -

Ciao Favio1970 ! We could check for Angelo Giuseppe Leporace (born ab. 1886-88) from Cosenza.
Do you know his parents' names ?. -

Ciao! I am looking for info on my great-grandparents Giuseppe Manderino (Mandarino) and Philomena Ferraro (Ferrero) from Paterno Calabro near Cosenza. Birthdates are around 1884-1886 and they left for America in 1905 to live in Pittsburg Kansas. NOT Pittsburgh Penn.
Joe died in 1954 Christmas Eve and I believe Filomena died in 1964. She had a niece with the same name born in Kansas 1906, not to be mixed up.
